6th Grade Counselor
My name is Vanta Cox, and I am your sixth grade counselor. I come to you as a graduate of Saint Augustine's College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications Radio/TV and as a graduate of North Carolina Central University with a Master of Arts degree in School Counseling. This will be my fourth year here at East Millbrook Middle School. Prior to coming to EMMMS, I worked as a Counselor at Brentwood Elementary, Durant Road Elementary and Goldsboro Middle School.
It is my goal to integrate each child's academic, career, personal and social development into his/her classroom curriculum in an effort to facilitate the functional and practical use of a comprehensive counseling program. It is also my goal to help students mature as individuals, to encourage them to reach their full potential, to help them accept things they cannot change, and guide students in understanding their responsibiltes for making decisions.
