Mr. Livengood
Mr. Livengood joined the East Millbrook Magnet Middle School family in January of 2008. Originally from Goldsboro, Mr. Livengood was a Teaching Fellow at North Carolina State University (go Pack!!) where he was a history major. He began his career in education as an eighth grade social studies teacher at Carnage Middle School in Raleigh in 1993; then he taught seventh grade social studies at Zebulon Middle School. In addition to teaching, Mr. Livengood also coached boys' and girls' soccer and boys' basketball.
Mr. Livengood was a Principal Fellow at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he earned the degree of Master of School Administration in 1999. He served as assistant principal in Johnston County for several years until he joined the faculty at Enloe High School in 2003, and he remained at Enloe until he came to EMMMS.
Mr. Livengood comes from a family of educators. His father was a principal, and his mother and grandmother are both retired elementary school teachers. He has two brothers. Matt is a professor at Portland State University in Oregon, and Adam is a physical therapist in Mt. Olive. Mr. Livengood's wife, Kathy, is a Certified Athletic Trainer and former physical education teacher. She is currently the Instructional Resource Teacher at Holly Ridge Middle School. Mr. Livengood is the proud father of a beautiful daughter, Leighton, who was born in November of 2008.
In his free time Mr. Livengood enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing golf, and playing with his two dogs, Reynolds and Deacon.
