Mrs. Warren

Patricia Warren decided early on that she wanted a career in education. Using her tenth grade teacher at Camden High School in Camden, South Carolina as her model and mentor, Patricia decided to become a teacher. She headed north to Raleigh, North Carolina where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree at Saint Augustine’s College. Immediately following college, Mrs. Warren worked as a Stenographer V for the Director of the State Bureau of Investigation. Having gained some business experience she could bring into the classroom, Mrs. Warren spent the next 16 years teaching accounting, keyboarding, computer applications and computer science in high schools in Wake County Public School System at East Wake High and Fuquay-Varina High.

While teaching, she was the recipient of the Wake County Education Foundation Teaching Excellence Award, being selected from a field of eighty-nine nominees. She was also the recipient of the Performance-Based Assessment and Compensation Program for Outstanding Teaching. Mrs. Warren led her Business Department for ten years and served as a mentor teacher for nine years.

Always the life-long learner, she completed her Master of Science Degree at North Carolina Central University and returned to the classroom. She was later the recipient of a Principal Fellows Scholarship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and fulfilled the requirements of the program completing the coursework and a year-long internship at Carnage GT Magnet Middle School and Southeast Raleigh High. After the internship, Mrs. Warren earned her Master of School Administration Degree University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She was later selected to attend and graduated from the Assistant Principal’s Executive Program, a prestigious school leadership program in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

She is currently an assistant principal at East Millbrook Middle School and resides in Raleigh, North Carolina. Mrs. Warren is married to her college sweetheart and they are the very proud parents of two children, Birchie St. Clair who attends Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia; and Erica Patrice, who attends North Carolina Central University in Durham, North Carolina.
