Withdrawing a Student from East Millbrook
Please call our office to verify that a student will be withdrawing at least one week ahead of time. This will allow us to clear a student schedule and produce a withdrawal form for the new school. New schools will not enroll a student without a formal withdrawal form.
Medication
Students requiring medication be taken at school must have a medical form from our department completed by their physician before medication can be dispensed. All medications must be in a prescription container with doctor's name and dosage requirements. Parents must deliver the medication to the school.
High School Registration
Attention Eight Grade Parents
Program Planning Guides were given to your child on Monday, February 25, 2008. This is the booklet that includes Wake County policies and has a description of all courses offered in the traditional Wake County high schools. You can also find this on-line at WCPSS.net.
The students will be coming home with their high school recommendation on February 28-29. Please review these carefully and if you disagree with a recommendation contact the teacher to discuss. Please keep in mind that high school strongly recommends that you support the teacher recommendation to insure a smooth transition to high school.
Registration for high school will began on March 5-19. The first team will be Falcons (science classes), Seahawks (science classes) and Griffins (science classes). We will be working in the computer lab to complete registration.
Remember when selecting 9th grade courses, you must choose from the courses available to 9th graders at the high school you will attend. A 9th grade course list will be included in every student's registration folder for their base school. Parents please go over the program planning guide and make sure that you write down what classes you want your child to take so when we go to the lab there will be ready to start their registration process.
Please keep in mind you can register from home but in order to do so you MUST let me know because there are materials you will need to know in order to complete this process at home. If you are planning to do this at home, please contact me no later than February 29, 2008. vcox@wcpss.net or 850-8771.
